In the competition, the RA Institute of Geological Sciences won from the Armenian side. At the first stage of the GDRI activities, a group of 17 people from Armenia, participating in the programme throughout the 2009-13 period, conducted a survey on the topic “The Effect of the Earth Dynamic Evolution of the Lesser Caucasus Mountain Range on Natural Resources, Active Tectonics and the Risk”; the Armenian side invested 24 million 126 thousand AMD. French, Georgian and Azerbaijani scientific organisations are involved in the GDRI along with the Armenian organisation.

The aim of the project is the implementation of cooperation between countries in regional geological explorations.  In the framework of the programme, international business trips, joint scientific meetings, joint publications, etc., have been carried out.
