On Organizing Scientific Events (Scientific Conferences, Symposia or Seminars)
Question 1: Which organizations can apply for financial support on competitive basis for the organization of a scientific event?
Answer - Ffinancial support on competitive basis for the organization of scientific events (scientific conferences, symposia or seminars) is intended for state organizations or HEIs carrying out scientific and technical activities in the Republic of Armenia.
Question 2: What's the timeline for applying for financial support for the organization of a scientific event?
Answer - The organization can submit a relevant application to the Science Committee until July 31 of the current year, in accordance with Annex N 1.1 of the Procedure for providing financial support for the organization of scientific events.
Question 3: What are the procedures and the terms of providing financial support for the organization of a scientific event?
Answer - The Committee checks the compliance of the submitted applications with the requirements established, if necessary the applications may be returned for revision. The Committee establishes an Evaluation Committee to evaluate the applications. After the adoption of the Law on the State Budget of the Republic of Armenia for the following year, the Chairman of the Committee, taking into consideration the amount of allocations provided for the organization of scientific events from the state budget of the Republic of Armenia, approves the list of scientific events to be financially supported. The Committee publishes the list of scientific events to be financially supported on its official website At least thirty days before the start of the scientific event, a financial support agreement is signed between the Committee and the organization.
Question 4: What other information should be submitted to the Science Committee apart from the application?
Answer - At least forty days before the start of the scientific event, the organization submits information about the need to make changes to any of the points of the application for the approval of the Committee, including updated information on the number of participants from foreign countries to review funding if necessary.
At least thirty days before the start of the scientific event, the Organization submits to the Committee the text of the announcement on the organization of the scientific event (place, date, agenda, etc.) to be published on the official website of the Committee.
Question 5: What actions are required after the end of the scientific event?
Within fifteen days after the end of the scientific event, the organization submits a report to the Committee in accordance with Annex N 1.2 of the Procedure for providing financial support for the organization of scientific events. Attached to the report shall be the copies of the documents (contracts, invoices, cash register receipts, statements, etc.) obtained within the funds provided by the Committee..
The Committee checks the compliance of the financial resources presented in the Report and the budget of the contract, takes appropriate measures to eliminate the errors detected, and draws up an act on the acceptance of the report.
