Call for Proposals “Professional Retraining 2024/2” is Open to Apply
The Higher Education and Science Committee announces the Call for Proposals for the “Professional Retraining 2024/2” Program within the framework of basic funding for scientific and technical activities from the state budget of the Republic of Armenia.
The “Professional Retraining 2024” Program, which covers all research fields of scientific and technical activities, is aimed at professional retraining and advanced training of the employees of scientific organizations and universities (including young scientists) carrying out programs within the framework of basic funding for scientific and technical activities.
The Call aims to use global scientific experience and best practices of the foreign partner states, promote the integration of researchers in the international research area, attract the scientific potential of the Diaspora, and foster international scientific cooperation.
The application shall, among other documents, also include a research project aimed at fostering the professional development of the applicant, as well as the use of the experience and skills of the best foreign research organizations.
The applicant, who must be a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, may either be:
- a master’s student involved in any basic funding program;
- a PhD student born after January 1, 1989, enrolled in this capacity in the research organization at least one year before the submission deadline;
- a person born after January 1, 1974, who holds an academic degree, and is engaged in research activities under an employment contract with the organization.
Only one application can be submitted at a time. In contrast to the previous Calls, the training duration under the present Call might range from 2 to 12 months.
The host organization must officially confirm the intention to accept the applicant. Additionally, the applicant must have a mentor with an academic degree in the aforementioned organization.
The maximum amount of funding for Master’s and PhD students may be 10.600.000 AMD, and for other applicants – 11.800.000 AMD for 12 months.
The application must be filled out via the online system (grants.hesc.am).
The deadline is June 12, 2024, 18:00 Yerevan time. The results will be announced by October 1, 2024.
